Sometimes I need to have quite a few tabs open in a terminal window. For some reason, under XFCE4 when I press
CTRL+Alt+A, which is defined as the keyboard shortcut to rename a tab, it hides the window.
The only way that I was able to get it to work was to re-label the shortcut to CTRL+Alt+Z under PreferencesKeybindings in Terminator.→ Continue reading “Renaming Terminator Tabs Under XFCE4”
I am working with a development environment whereby I VPN into an environment with an Ubuntu VirtualBox guest and then initiate an x2go client session to a developement workstation server that lives in the development environment.

Previously the xev output when pressing the delete key was:
FocusOut event, serial 36, synthetic NO, window 0x2e00001,
mode NotifyGrab, detail NotifyAncestor

For FC 20 with the Xfce spin, there a couple of knobs to turn before it can be turned off completely:
Applications Menu/Settings/Window Manager:
Go to the Advanced tab and uncheck ‘Snap windows to screen border’ and ‘Snap windows to other windows’
Applications Menu/Settings/Window Manager Tweaks:
Go to Accessibility tabUncheck the ‘Use edge resistance instead of window snapping’→ Continue reading “Disabling Window Snapping for Fedora Core 20 Under Xfce”
